How To Create Core Poses That Sell- For Boudoir Photographers
When I first started out, posing was the biggest most important thing on my to do list. Posing is so important, it will be a big determining factor of how much money you make in your sales session. Having a core posing flow that you can go to during your shoot will be so most helpful.
Today we are going to talk about how you can gain more confidence in your posing flow. Do you want to make more money at your viewing and ordering sessions? Do you want to book more sessions? If you answered yes, then you will need to know your Core Go To Poses. These poses will work with any body type.
Core poses will be different for each photographer. Depending on your style and what works for your overall vibe. Finding your core poses are those poses that sell not matter what size, shape or age your client is. You will want to have 5 core poses that are your go to poses, that you can create at least 20 images that your client will love and want to buy at her viewing and ordering session. Knowing your core poses well, will give you peace of mind, and one less thing to worry about during your session.
If you have already shot boudoir before, you will want to go back over your session and see which poses consistently sold. Those will become your core poses.
If you haven’t started shooting boudoir yet, then you should get started! Start by asking friends and family if they will let you take a few shots of them. You can also go onto a local Facebook group and find a model that is willing to work TFP with you, and you can get started that way. If you don’t know what TFP is, it simply means, Trade For Print. So you are both needing photo’s in exchange for the time you spend on the shoot. It is a great way to get the practice you need and learn the posing methods. This is the way that I started out.
So, the goal now is to be able to go into every shoot with confidence in knowing exactly which poses you will start and end with.
