How To Avoid Cancellations & No Show’s
Would you like to know how you can avoid cancellations and no show’s? The struggle is real for some photographers. You book your client in, you expect them to show up, they either disappear or no show, how frustrating is that? It happens to the best of us. There are some steps you can take to decrease the likelihood of a no show.
Collecting A Retainer Fee
If you aren’t already doing so, you should be collecting a non refundable retainer fee from your clients, at the time of booking. Taking this retainer fee will insure that they are 100% committed to attending their shoot. Be sure to have them sign your contract at the time of booking also. Once they sign your contract and send the non refundable retainer fee, you must then send them a welcome email, with all the details to their shoot. Sending an email will be another check mark and ensure they have the details for their shoot.
Follow up Text Or Email
I have an automated follow up email service that I use to send out reminders at certain intervals before my clients shoot. I send one out 2 weeks before and then 1 week before their shoot. I use Acuity Scheduling, It’s been the best service that I have used. My clients can book themselves into my calendar and I can take payments also. I also host my contract here, its all super easy and streamlined. Ohh and I also send out a text message to my clients a week before their shoot, I find most people will respond to a text much faster then an email most times.
Are you using any of these techniques to ensure you have no cancellations or no shows? If not, it’s time you did.
