Have you ever posted an ad on social media and all you got was crickets? That used to be me, until I figured out what my ideal client was wanting and needing in her life. Until I got crystal clear and figured out exactly who she was, It was a struggle. Below are some tips for you to find out who your idea client is, and how to appeal and market to her in a way that will have her begging to book a boudoir session with you.
What is your unique mission? Why do you shoot boudoir photography? How can you appeal to your ideal client? Come up with a reason and a statement as to what you goal is. Are you wanting to empower women to love themselves? Are you wanting to help women find time to pamper themselves? Once you figure this out, you can then start to figure out who your ideal client is. Get out a note pad and start jotting down your why. Why do you want to shoot boudoir photography? Also, what makes what you have to offer unique?
Who Is She?
Now, turn the the page of that note book. I want you to start writing out who your ideal client is. What type of woman would be attracted to your unique service?
Educated? Have kids? What kind of a car does she drive? Is she married? Divorced? How old is she? What does she do for fun? Hobbies? What types of vacations does she like to go on?
Get ridiculous with this and just jot down all that comes to mind. You can even give her a name. Once you do this exercise, you will be able to come up with a nice paragraph about who she is and how she thinks and feels about herself and her life.
Once I was able to get specific on who my ideal client was, I was able to build my marketing plan around her and what I can help give her. Remember, you are solving a problem for her.
