Do You Need A Bed To Shoot Boudoir Photography?
Do you need a bed to shoot boudoir photography? The answer is absolutely not! You use what you have available. Learning to shoot in almost any space and with different props will develop your skills so much so, that you will be a well versed photographer!
I have been in a situation where I had nothing but the wall and the floor to shoot with. You can make anyone look beautiful in any space, if you have the skills and practice.
I love to use the floor to come up with different looks for my clients. Using the floor challenges me to pose my client and move around her and come up with different looks. I love the challenge!
How About An Air Mattress
I still use an air mattress to this day. It’s very low cost, and it does the trick. I love working with an air mattress. I put some nice sheets down and or a fury throw and it creates a great look. You can have your client right on the bed. Sitting off the side of the bed, or even sitting. You can get a great variety of looks using an air mattress.
The chair is a great prop you can use. There are so many poses you can come up with using The Chair. I always use a chair in one of my sets with each client. She could be sitting, kneeling, laying back, sitting up straight. The options are endless.
I want you to challenge yourself and try to use different props, or even no props for your next shoot. If you are totally uncomfortable practicing on a client, just ask a friend or get a model to help you out. You will become a pro and be able to shoot anywhere and with any or no props. You got this!!
